Alison Jones is a professor in Te Puna Wānanga, the School of Māori and Indigenous Education at the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland. Her research focus is on Māori-Pākehā educational relationships, particularly pre-Treaty, and today. Her most recent book, entitled Tuai: A Traveller in Two Worlds (co-authored with Kuni Kaa Jenkins), won an Ockham Book Award in 2018. Alison is a Pākehā, born in Auckland to English-born parents, though her ancestors arrived in New Zealand in 1857.
