About the presenterSpring Week on Campus 2019
Dr Sara Buttsworth
I was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia. I moved here in 2003 after I married my Kiwi husband and my PhD in 2003 – and last year I became a Kiwi officially myself! I have been teaching in a variety of capacities at the University of Auckland since 2004. While my training and much of my teaching is located in history, my research interests and approaches have always tended to be … un-disciplined. I have designed an entire course around unravelling yarns and how we knit monsters. And stitched to this is my research, which has focussed primarily on issues of gender and representation and expanding the ways in which we think about war.
